Since opening its doors in 1981, Sleep Exquisite's business has been to manufacture and retail traditional Japanese futon bedding. We were the first company to introduce the Japanese futon sleep system on the West Coast and promote its practicality and comfort as an alternative to the Western box spring and mattress.
We owe our success and longevity to 3 fundamental beliefs. First, we never compromise on the quality of raw materials. This alone makes a tremendous difference between owning a bed that will last for many years compared to one that is disposable. Secondly, our futon bedding is assembled and quilted by hand. We believe that this is the mark of true quality. You will immediately see and feel the difference between our handcrafted futons when compared to mass-produced, machine-made futons. Lastly, true Japanese futon bedding is cleanable. We offer servicing for all parts of our futons which includes water washing of all outer fabrics, complete replacement of inside raw materials, and repairs.
The Sleep Exquisite product line also includes tatami mats, new and antique tansu furniture, platforms, shoji screens, 100% organic buckwheat hull pillows, sudare blinds, artwork, lighting, zabuton pillows, water fountains, ikebana floral arrangements, and many one-of-a-kind decorative accent pieces. We take immense pride in being able to offer custom made items to accommodate your home's unique decor, color palette and size.
Conveniently located on the Westside of Los Angeles, we are close to Santa Monica, Brentwood, Beverly Hills and Culver City.
