imported tatami
Several times a year we bring in containers from our tatami maker in Taiwan. These tatami are meant to be recessed into the floor therefore the side stitching is not seen. We import these mats in the customary Japanese sizes 3' by 6' and 3' by 3'. They are quite heavy and have black borders only. If you are building a tatami room in your house, these imported mats are an economical solution.
